Role Purpose

The Warehouse Operative is responsible for supporting the efficient day-to-day operation of the warehouse, ensuring that goods are received, stored, picked, packed, and dispatched accurately and in accordance with company procedures, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.

The role plays a key part in maintaining excellent customer service through the timely and accurate fulfilment of customer orders while ensuring compliance with Good Distribution Practice (GDP), Health & Safety requirements, and Company Quality Management Systems.

Key Responsibilities

Warehouse Operations

  • Pick, pack, and prepare customer orders accurately and efficiently.

  • Ensure customer-specific requirements and delivery instructions are adhered to at all times.

  • Receive, inspect, and process incoming deliveries.

  • Accept and sign for deliveries where authorised.

  • Assist with loading and unloading goods.

  • Ensure stock is stored correctly and safely within the warehouse.

  • Assist with stock takes and inventory counts.

  • Investigate and report stock discrepancies.

  • Support the accurate booking-in and movement of stock within warehouse systems.

  • Liaise with Customer Services and other departments to fulfil customer requirements.

  • Coordinate with couriers and delivery partners regarding collections and deliveries.

  • Track shipments and assist with delivery enquiries when required.

  • Prioritise workloads to meet operational deadlines and customer expectations.

Quality, Compliance and Safety

  • Ensure all activities associated with wholesaling operations are undertaken in compliance with the Company's Wholesale Distribution Authorisation (WDA(H)).

  • Comply with Good Distribution Practice (GDP) requirements relating to the storage, handling, and distribution of medicinal products.

  • Follow all company Quality Management System (QMS) and Environmental Management System (EMS) procedures.

  • Report quality issues, complaints, incidents, or non-conformances promptly to the Warehouse Manager and relevant Quality personnel.

  • Comply with all Health & Safety policies, procedures, and safe working practices.

  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping and cleanliness throughout the warehouse.

  • Protect the confidentiality of company, customer, and supplier information.

General Responsibilities

  • Support the Warehouse Manager with operational tasks and projects as required.

  • Attend training sessions and development activities relevant to the role.

  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across warehouse operations.

  • Assist with other duties appropriate to the role as reasonably required.

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Previous warehouse experience.

  • Experience of picking and packing orders.

  • Good organizational and time management skills.

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines.

  • Basic computer literacy and ability to use warehouse systems.

  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Desirable Skills and Experience

  • Experience working within a medical device, healthcare, pharmaceutical, or regulated environment.

  • Knowledge of Good Distribution Practice (GDP).

  • Experience using Sage 200 or other Warehouse Management Systems.

  • Understanding of stock control and inventory management processes.
